Last year in August, while living in Wellington where I was born and bred, I saw an ad posted by a Canterbury guy who's non-de-plume was pine

tree. I sent him an email but he never replied. Then on 15 November 2003 while late night browsing one Saturday night, I noticed pine tree online and sent him an email. This time he replied and we traded emails back and forth. A few days later he phoned me and we just seemed to

"click". I kept saying I wanted to see a photo and around the first week in December, he sent me a letter, photos of himself and a dog and a Christmas card. I was really touched and thought, "I have to meet this guy". So meet we

did on 14 December at Picton - sort of halfway between Wellington and Christchurch.

We seemed really at ease in each other's company and we just "clicked" - the chemistry was there. Lots of phone calls later, I went to Christchurch on Boxing Day for 3 days, then had to go back to work but I returned to Christchurch for New Year to meet his children etc.

Well, we decided there was definitely something there and having paid hundreds of dollars to Air New Zealand, we decided we'd better make the

arrangement more permanent. So, on 19 May 2004, I moved in with "pinetree" here in Christchurch. I'd given up my job, sold my flat and said goodbye to my friends and family. And it's been the best thing to have happened to me since my daughter was born 18 years ago.

I never thought I'd find true love ever. Especially in middle-age. But I have - and it's everything I ever dreamed it would be.

Just wanted to say thank you Findsomeone. Haven't got around to deleting our ads as "pine tree" has forgotten his password but anyway,

I just want to say thanks to findsomeone - you're the best.
